Virgo, a securitizer of the capital market that offers credit access solutions with the best conditions and in the shortest time, has made a significant advancement in its digital security journey with the support of Teltec Data, a specialist in creating digital ecosystems that accelerate the technological transformation of companies, and one of Microsoft's main partners in Brazil.
In just two and a half months of the project, the organization raised its Microsoft Secure Score, an index that measures the level of protection and compliance of the digital environment within the Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, from 49 to 82 points, even surpassing the initial target set at 80. This increase reflects the adoption of new policies and controls that reduce the risks of cyberattacks, such as advanced antivirus, encryption, email protection, and device management.
The initiative arose from Virgo's concern for the protection of sensitive information, especially in a scenario where its more than 130 employees access corporate data from different locations and networks. Even without experiencing security incidents, the company invested in the decision to strengthen its posture against threats such as data theft and ransomware attacks. After seeking support from another consultancy without satisfactory results, the company turned to Teltec Data, with whom they already had a trusted relationship from previous projects on the Microsoft Azure cloud.
According to Marcos Dau, IT specialist at Virgo, the partnership was decisive in structuring a clear and effective action plan.
"We have a lean internal team, but we knew the importance of raising our security maturity. Teltec Data was fundamental in showing the way, responding quickly, and supporting every critical decision. Even being an autonomous company, we realized that having a specialized partner makes all the difference in moving forward with security and confidence," says Marcos Dau, IT specialist at Virgo.
The project, which began in 2024, involved the implementation of 45 new security rules aligned with the Zero Trust model, an approach that assumes no access should be considered trustworthy by default, requiring continuous validation of identities, devices, and applications. In addition to reinforcing compliance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the initiative addressed areas such as vulnerability management, multi-factor authentication, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and information traffic monitoring.
The impacts were immediate: in addition to the significant improvement in Secure Score, Virgo also recorded a significant change in the internal culture of the organization, with increased employee awareness about the importance of digital security.
"Security is not just a technical issue, it's structural. It changes behavior, defines posture, and the way of thinking within the company. This has perhaps been the greatest gain of the project: the cultural transformation that came alongside the technology," concludes Dau.
For the future, the company already plans to continue the project with new initiatives such as document labeling and corporate message encryption, increasing the level of protection and ensuring the confidentiality of information. The trend is that the partnership with Teltec Data will be renewed to support the next stage of this transformation.
